“You may speak but a word to a child, and in that child may be slumbering a noble heart which shall stir the Christian Church in the years to come.” (Charles Spurgeon)
Spurgeon’s quote captures the very mission of our Children’s Ministry here at Austin Bluffs. Our goal is to help parents prepare the hearts of children for God’s calling - the calling that will lead them to faith and salvation. It’s a role we do not take lightly and are honored to be a part of the sanctification process.
Our true calling and purpose is to teach God’s Word to your children in a way that will truly and sincerely lead each of their little, yet mighty, souls to Christ. We strive to make a lasting impression on them by always pointing them toward Christ.
Our hope is to inspire people to serve in Children’s Ministry here at ABEFC. Children are our mission field! It’s a passion we share.
“Let the children come to Me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.” And He took them in His arms and blessed them, laying His hands on them. (Mark 10:14-16)
In seeking to connect more and more of our people in serving our children, later this summer we are rolling out a new “adopt-a-class” program. Each ABF Class is adopting a Children’s Sunday School class and those adult classes will partner with the children’s teachers by offering prayer and support in very tangible ways. It promises to be a fun and meaningful way to create awareness among our adults, and hopefully inspire them to join us in our mission.
I am blessed to be the new Children’s Ministry Director, and I treasure my place in your children’s lives. It’s our hope to humbly be led as your children continue to bless the team and seek the Lord. I encourage you to participate in this most valuable journey with me! My door is always open and my heart is full.
